I am an eleven year suvivor of colon cancer. I thank God for my sense of humor about the whole ordeal. I faced the facts and dealt with them in my own way.

Hey girl,
I’ve been out of it for a couple of weeks but will blog much better feeling today. Just wanted to catch up and thank you for your words and support.

hey sly,
I meet the funniest coolest people here but you may be alot like me. I know the sense of humor gets you in and out of every situation.
I need perspective from someone like you, the other work I do here is satisfying but no matter how much I give out in humor, support, and sillinesss, I need to get some perspective from someone who’s been down the road with time for me to catch up.
Actually, Wolfie brought me here, rest his soul.
I would be honored to be a part of your blog family (blamily)!
Bless Andreas and all of us.
I hope little wolfie is good,
xoxo,
Debbie

Sly,
Thank you for your kind and soothing words.
You write so beautiful, and express so much emotion. You should compose a book of your blog journals… It could be a self help book, book about the struggles of cancer, inspirational, family hand-me-down, book for your grand children or whatever I think you are very talented
Thank you
Hey Sly,

You’re right…I’m a fighter, like you.
Round one…here I come!

Hello Shirley,
Thanks for visiting my page and thank you for the kind words. Its awesome to meet an 11 year survivor. I hope you will make it at least 11 more. I have tonsillectomy surgery this thurs and I still have a tiny bit of hope but Im pessimistic and expecting not so good news. Its so great to hear from you that your son-in-law is an ENT who is familiar with throat cancer among non-smokers infected with HPV. Honestly, from what Ive read, if I do have cancer, I just hope its the HPV type, because of how effective treatment seems to be. It would be great if I could read any of your son-in-law’s research on the subject. Is there anywhere online that I could find his publications? Please feel free to email me at chucklacasa@gmail.com . The more info I can get, the better. Although I havent been diagnosed with anything so lets just say that Im bracing for impact. So, as you well know, right now times are tough with all these questions and unknowns. Its become very hard to sleep and relax. I cant wait for thurs
Take care and thank you again
Hi Sly,

Hi Sly
Thanks for the message…..I’m trying to stay as positive as I possibly can…..just taking it one day at a time….....I had my bad days with my first round of chemo but nothing like I had expected…...getting ready for round two on Thursday…..trying to stay as busy as possible with everyday things so I don’t think about cancer all the time…...this is very hard to do but I keep trying…..Thanks again…..
Thank you for those kind words to help us fight and stay clean. I have five years with one cancer and I just fought a year with another type of cancer and told I’m all clean..I hope the Lord stays with me and I can say ten yeras some day. Ric
