Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects:

Completed thyroidectomy on 2/24/10 was a breeze. Vocal chord damage.

Radiation or Proton Therapy Description, Dates & Side Effects:

Radioactive Iodine-131: 4/16/10 – 7 days total quarantine. Irritated lung tissue, scalp sores, dry mouth, nausea.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects:

Thyrogen injection #1: 4/14/10 – stings

#2 – didn’t feel a thing
RAI-131: 4/16/10 – 203.9 units – so far, so good.

Hormone Therapy Description, Dates & Side Effects:

Ever-increasing strengths of Synthroid. How much is too much? Lower heart rate and blood pressure.

Clinical Trials:

If RAI doesn’t work (and it probably won’t). Well, RAI DID work and I will not have to do clinical trials. Oh, the power of prayer!

Hi Monique;

I am on that med. It is called something else up here in Canada..sooo that wasn’t helping because I thought it was just for heartburn, and not taking it everyday. Now I will.

What would we do, if we did not blog on somethings.
