Biography

Hi All,
I went in for a routine hysterectomy 31 /03/2009 after they found a phybrome on my uterus 10×7x5cm. THe operation went well.
my Doctor left a overy in-it had a kiss that was bleeding he put 2 stitches in it. THe doctor said after the operation, that it was actually the size of his hand and it was rotting inside me ,when he took it out it was dripping between his fingers.the growth was ruptured.TH
The doctor sent it off for biophsy, the doctor called me at home at 9:15Pm 06th/05/2009 he told me to come into the hospital:he had the results and they werent good.He gave me a copy of the results and faxed them off to a hospital in front of me.I was in such shock that i didnt even ask which hospital or doctor.he then left for a week’s vacation.
it came back positive for leiomyosarcoma/uterine(high grade)
highest mitoses12/10,average count for mitoses 8/10.
I finally go to my appointment with the specialists here
I had to tell them that it was ruptured they didnt know.
they stopped right away and will send me for scans from head to foot. And thats where im at right now.I of course have done the research on the net…which now im terrified!
Does anyone here have the same thing as me?? p.s. Should i insist they take the overy out?

Comments:

Morning! Thanks for the comment. Yeah they sent it off to pathology and it came back benign. I am so glad. I had no symptoms and had no idea it was there. It showed up on a routine CAT scan. crazy! How are you? I feel like I haven’t been around the blog much. Needed a break I think. Too much doctor stuff for me lately. Hopefully I will come back to life this week and back to a happier me.

Like others have said, you need to be treated by a gyno/oncologist and preferrably going to a center that deals with sarcomas. What a horrible thing to go through and have the uterus rupture!

I will keep you in my prayers. Stay strong even when it feels like you have no strength. Just get yourself healthy and strong for whatever treatments they may recommend.

I LIVE IN PHILADELPHIA THIS PLACE IS IN NJ
THE OFFER OF FREE PLACE TO STAY IS EXTENDED TO YOU

Because of the rarity of Leiomyosarcoma, and the higher survival rates of sarcoma patients who are treated at sarcoma centers, we feel it is ESSENTIAL that you also request a referral to a sarcoma oncologist or sarcoma treatment center for overseeing your treatment, or for a second opinion. We define a sarcoma oncologist as an oncologist who sees at least 100 sarcoma patients a year, and who often works in or near a sarcoma treatment center.*

hey

You need to post some photos of your doggies. Mine is actually a mini labradoodle. Who is completely crazy but I love her.

Welcome to the group.

Hi Melody, I hope this comment finds you well.
It’s definitely comforting to find out we’re not alone. I hope your plants turn out lovely. Mom just finished her round of radiation – chemo discussions will be next month (June) as the cancer had metastisized before she started radio. But she’s doing good.

With Love, Alyssa
