Biography

My name is Maja (Maya), I’m 57 years old – married for 37 years Mom of two sons, and Grandma of two girls and one boy. I emigrated with my family to Canada in 1982 from then comunist Poland. Since 1986 I have been working as an administrator.
Up to now I never had any health problems, and even now I feel good, full of energy, which makes harder to accept that I have cancer.

Cancer Symptoms

Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects

Surgery on June 20th, side effect – bowel obstruction

Radiation or Proton Therapy Description, Dates & Side Effects

Started March 22nd, some pain in the rectum a lot of mucus, tired for 2-3 hours after treatment

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects

Xeloda oral 2000, started March 22nd – OK up to date
Folfox – starting August 29th, port inserted on July 29th.
Side effects from folfox – berable – cold sensitivity in hands and eyelids. Tingling in hands, shin cramps, tiredness, eye dryness.
