How its changed my life

I felt a lump by accident and brought it to the attention of my Gynecologist. Initially I was told that I was too young…but, obviously, he was wrong. It took 5 months to be diagnosed!

User Information

Biography

My name is Khadijah Carter and I am 32 years old. I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 28 years old. My beautiful 10 year old daughter inspires me to live. I write and sing songs to encourage her because she’s had to travel this cancer journey with me. We live in New York City where I currently work as the Diversity and Programs Manager for the Young Survival Coalition, an organization dedicated to the needs of young women with breast cancer.

I am committed to helping highlight the unique issues of young women with breast cancer. I am determined to use my voice to inspire fellow cancer survivors!
