Biography

I am currently taking care of my beloved Dad, who was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer on January 29, 2010. I refuse to give up, and for that, he has said that I have become his reason for fighting this cancer.

Cancer Symptoms

Jaundice was the only symptom Dad showed.

Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects

Dad had a Whipple procedure on 2/15/10. The tumor was completely removed along with 12 lymph nodes (only one tested positive). His side effects have been pain, nausea, gas build up, bile build up and hiccups which caused him to start throwing up the bile so bad he had to go to the ER. Finally found the right combination of medication to get rid of all of the side effects.

Radiation or Proton Therapy Description, Dates & Side Effects

Radiation – 6/14/10 to 7/22/10 Monday through Friday: Had some bad mornings starting about halfway through, but always seemed to feel better after his treatment. At night, the upset stomach side effects would kick in.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects

Chemo once a week from 4/2/10 to 6/01/10: Was tired the next day with small “blah” moments.
