Cancer Symptoms:
Lower back pain
Vaginal pressure
Low energy

Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects:
June 2007; Lower right lung wedge resection

Radiation Description, Dates & Side Effects:

Pelvic radiation; July – September 2006
Side effects became so severe required hospitalization during final week of treatment.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects:
Currently on taxol/carboplatin
Prior treatment of Folfox 6 showed no sign of lung met shrinkage.

Biography

Originally diagnosed as Stage IIb anal cancer July 2006. Underwent chemo/radiation. Thought the beast was beat. May 2007 PET scan revealed mets on right lung. Lung resection June 2007. Currently undergoing Taxol and carboplatin chemotherapy at Mayo Clinic.

Dear Kathy,
It’s been far too long since we have communicated but I have spent the largest part of my days since the holidays’ in the hospital and only recently learned that they will give me a laptop to use while a patient. That would have certainly broke the boredom. Please know that you are always in my thoughts & prayers and only hope the very best for you and your family. My daughter, Laura just turned 23 on May 16, so I truly do understand. Wishing your better days. Take Care,
