Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects

In the hospital for 5 days for colon resection and temporary colostomy. Stage 3c, 6sm tumor removed, 15/33 infected lymph nodes, well differentiated cells.

Radiation or Proton Therapy Description, Dates & Side Effects

Started radiation 6 weeks after the surgery. 5 1/2 half weeks of radiation M-F, combined with 1500mg of Xeloda twice daily M-F.

Minimal side effects. I slowed down on walking due to fatigue, but not enough to interupt my normal life functions. Some diarreah during the 3-4 hours right after the radiation. No side effects related to the Xeloda.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects

One month off after the radiation concluded. I go in every third week to receive and IV of Oxilyplatin. I take 1650 mg of Xeloda twice daily starting with the date of iv, and lasting for 14 days. Thus far I’ve received 2 of six iv treatments. Side effects have been marginal and temporary. Sensitivity to cold lasts around 3 days. Some tingling in the hands and arm where the iv went in. Goes away after a few days.
