Welcome! How are you feeling?
Hi James –
I’m brand new to this site – just dianosed on November 18th with Stage 4 tonsil cancer (spread to one lymph node) and I start chemo/radiation about December 19th. I’m just starting out on this journey – like you – and I’m wishing you all the best. Any tips and/or info you can share with me as you’re a little ahead of me, would be greatly appreciated.

Hello James,
Welcome! If there is anytime you need to vent…. we are all here for U! I had the radical neck surgery, removal of 15 lymph nodes, and 35 radiation treatments, it’s seems like you have a different type of treatment and I hope all goes well? If I can say anything keep a positive attitude and remember we are all here too support you. You have a wonderful family and may God be with you all!
James welcome to the family. Its a great group and if teres ever anything you need to know just shout it out everyone on here is great.. Gotta say your doing some pretty unique treatments with the topo-therapy….........hopefully better then getting a neck dissection and tonsilectomy. Great that your doing the feeding tube ahead of time I did as well and was glad I didnt wait til I felt like crap to do it. Chemo well the first 2 are a breeze making that last one is tough but try like hell to do all three. Talk soon and stay strong its a long road with a lot of bumps in it but ask away thats what we are here for. Not many places will tell you about the constipation from pain meds, mucus you can pull out of your throat by hand, the funk that grows in your mouth thats NOT thrush its all good ….... get a small suction machine also you can rent the and you will need it by week 4 or 5 just to clear the mucus you will have.
I’ve been a gallon, at least, of water a day drinker for years – I hope to keep that up.
