User InformationBiographyI was diagnosed at 46 with stage 2a infiltrating ductal cancer with 3 nodes involved.I had just had a mammo and seen my gyno for a checkup and all seemed well. I found the lump on a BSE two months later.I had an excisional biopsy that turned into a lumpectomy.I had clean margins, but I had had 3 tumors one benign and the other two were quite involved. A month later I went in for the Sentinel node biopsy and woke up to a drain and knew I had a node dissection because the CANCER had traveled! My mother will soon be a 15 year survivor of stage 3 with 15 nodes involved. I will soon be 2 years out of chemo and radiation. I am on Tamoxifen.I had 5.5 months of chemo, first AC dose dense the taxotere,I was neutropenic once with a sinus infection(always get those damn things) and hospitalized. I was pretty sick on chemo and had alot of pain I never want to know again.I had radiation and suffered a bad burn under my breast.I worked during chemo and was out sick on bad days. I am a Physical Therapist Assistant and have been for 26 years. I work in a school setting in Special Education. At the time I worked with Jr./Sr. High aged students.
