Ava's Profile PageCancer SymptomsI was starting menopause so my light spotting I thought was normal oh I am having a cycle oh I am not it would stop for a day then start it was so scant some times red sometimes not I left it for 6 months. I had had a D/C in October 2008 in feb 2009 Doc said all was fine what he did not tell me is he was told it was cancer so he sent the samples to the cancer institute and they said no. He thought it was squamous cell carcinoma I ended up with aeodnocarcinoma But he never told me what he had done with my samples or what the first lab had thought. He should have told me because I would have been more vigilant and he should of had me come back in six months. Hi Ava – I have read in the research and Canadian treatment standards, as well as have been confirmed by a friend who is a doctor in the field, that they tend not to treat gynaecological recurrences until they become symptomatic. So, we may have swollen lymph nodes, but are they causing us pain or other problems? If they’re not, they may take a wait-and-see approach. It may not be reassuring, but in the studies I have read it seems to not make a huge difference to longer-term outcomes. Please keep me posted on what the docs tell you! Hugs and best wishes, 1vph.
I had my surgery Dec. 08. I ended my treatment April 09. I am feeling pretty good, just gained some weight. I must exercise more. I started drinking too much lately after my father died last month. I have to work on that. Hope you’re feeling good.
