John's Wife's Profile PageBiographyMy husband and I have been happily married for 18 years and we have two beautiful children – 17 and 9. My husband found out officially that he had cancer in early March after a biopsy on his larynx. He has Stage 4 larynx cancer. We both quit smoking (certainly the cause of this) as a result, and he is now undergoing treatment. He has already completed induction chemo and started radiation May 1. We are hoping to save his vocal chords, but more importantly, his life. Cancer SymptomsSore throat, hoarseness, drainage – two months of antibiotics and steroids before the ENT discovered it. Surgery Description, Dates & Side EffectsNo surgery Radiation or Proton Therapy Description, Dates & Side Effects35 radiation treatments starting May 2 Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side EffectsInduction chemo for 2 months prior to radiation treatment – once a week during radiation; mouth sores for four days after first round, hair loss, fatigue, and some taste changes, but all in all, he did really well. Very little nausea. |
Dear AshleyAnn, Thank you so much for loving my Anxiety post. Like you said “Anxiety is the devil hisself.”
You know we’re all rooting for your darlin’ Johnny to have some great scan results.
Again, like you said, “Here’s to CLEAN results with no freakin’ evidence of disease. GONE!”
By the way, has he worked worked up to a hamburger yet?
Love to you and Hugs to you both,
Nicole
Oh yeah AshleyAnn, it would be terrific, if you could even get some piped in music during these scan times.
I’m thinking about the results showing the cancer cells not being there, not being anywhere.
.......just in time for the arthritis to kick in.
As they say, timing is everything. Fascinating!
Hugs to you and your sweetie,
Nicole
